These were meant to encourage IMVU users to use their PROMO Credits (Predits) to purchase these cheap cheap items.
Why? Because we (developers) do NOT earn a single credit from purchases using Predits. Instead, we earn Dev Tokens (DTs) which is really not useful since we can NOT use the DTs to buy items for ourselves or others =.=
Hence, I strongly encourage everyone to help me earn Credits instead of DTs. The Credits will be sold to resellers and/or friends to help me earn extra income and I really need it. Thankew! (:
